"Dutch" is a 10 year old 15 hand, good looking, bay ranch gelding. This horse comes from the large
ranching area in the state of Montana. He was used mainly to drift and gather cattle on the large
ranches, and to hold the herd while other riders roped and sorted the cattle for branding,
vaccinating, and castrating. He has a really nice walk, a good, smooth trot, and a wonderful short
lope. He learned these gaits while being ridden long distances on the big ranches. This is a horse
with lots of seasoning, and has never known  a bad habit, since he has always been ridden by good
riders that knew what they were doing. Everything this horse has learned has been from long,
continuous, hardworking days under the saddle. He will not get fresh or frisky or want to buck if
turned out for long periods of time, and will not spook or shy in the pastures, on the trails, or in the
pens. I believe this horse would definitely be safe and gentle enough for the beginner and novice
riders and yet, well trained and broke enough to be appreciated and enjoyed the intermediate and
experienced riders. This is a good all- around kind of horse that will give you all of his attention and
the best of his effort to do what is right for you. I think this horse would be a great asset for any
family, stable, or ranch.
